The client, a great lady, lives in a Salt Box style house. The entire house is well-decorated in an early American style. She wanted to uplift the kitchen, which was nice, but a bit plain. After some conversation, a little design consultation, some good product knowledge, and a few weeks time, we delivered something she is very happy with.

We recommended she keep the floors and counters. Julianna suggested a soapstone farmhouse sink and an oversized mixer faucet. The tile was a joint effort - the checkerboard is a favorite design element of the clients. Finally, the plate rack was a decorative way to display more period-style plates. In the construction, Doug had to fabricate a new section of maple countertop, but you can't tell the difference...it's beautiful.

The client said this about our work:
"I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do to update my kitchen and Doug was able to give me some great ideas that I had never thought of. He worked with me to get the pricing in line with my budget and started and finished the project according to a promised timeline. The quality of his work was above and beyond my expectations and my kitchen turned out to be better than I could have ever imagined. It was a great experience from beginning to end."

Before (left):
In this beautiful condo (built only 2.5 years ago), there was an element of the condo that made the clients crazy since day one!! The builder, because of the size and shape of the wall, was unable to get cabinets to fit the wall to match the balance of the kitchen. They chose to have their trim carpenter build out the wall. The end result, which you see, is an unfortunate misuse of space. First, none of the upper 3 feet of wall were cabinets, just open air covered with flat panels and trim. Second, it did not match the rest of the beautiful kitchen. We found out later that the client had looked for 2 years to find a carpenter who was willing to take on this project; Doug was brave enough, and very capable of building an amazing wall.

After (right):
The end result was a wall of cabinets that not only fully utilized the space, but also matches the rest of the kitchen. According to the client it looks like it "fits" in the kitchen. We added a bonus: the cabinet door above the oven flips up and is built to fit cookie sheets and muffin tins. During the building of this wall of cabinets, the client asked for fluted boards to match the others in the kitchen. After some engineering, Doug built flutes which did many things: they matched the look of the kitchen better; they created the architectural look of "columns" on the wall; and they are more well-made than those done by the professional cabinet company. (a local woodworking company has hired Doug to build all their flutes from now on).

Another nice kitchen cabinet installation, with a tile floor that has an area of different tiles near the sink. We created the custom crown molding in the style of the cabinets. Display and storage cabinets along the wall behind the table make it easy to serve guests.

Whether your kitchen is $5,000 or $50,000 we can get it done for you. We are the ones people call when it wasn't done right by another contractor.
